The Road To Hana

Discover Hana, an unspoiled paradise on the remote eastern coast of Maui. Join us on the Road to Hana Maui tour as we follow this awe-inspiring, 53-mile route featuring 620 curves, 59 bridges, and spellbinding vistas. Along the way, you’ll experience rainforests and bamboo forests, cascading waterfalls, deep pools, taro patches, botanical gardens, beaches, and a private plantation.

The adventure starts in quaint Paia, a former sugar plantation town now famous for lovely shops, galleries, and restaurants. Next, we drive by renowned Hookipa Beach Park, where wind surfers test their skills on the north winds and waves. Our journey continues at breathtaking Keanae Peninsula, home to ancient taro fields still in use. Look for Hawaiian green sea turtles and whales (in season) frolicking in the ocean as we explore the area’s exotic flora and fauna.

The day continues as we make stops at magnificent waterfalls with musical Hawaiian names like Wailua, Puohokamoa, Waikani, and Waikamoi. You’ll even get to cool off under the cascading waters. We go to Waianapanapa State Park with its black sands, sea caves, and azure waters for a swim; Koki Beach and its red sands for boogie boarding; and Hamoa Bay, a white sand beach, for snorkeling.

The tour stops at a private oceanfront Hana plantation with tropical gardens for a delicious lunch, Hawaiian arts and crafts, and swimming. Explore the gardens and pick some flower and ferns to weave into a lei. Cool under the private waterfall, go snorkeling or boogie boarding, and learn to play ukulele.

Soon we’ll arrive in charming Hana town, with famous Hasegawa General Store, opened since 1910. Along the way, our friendly and expert guides will make sure to include stops at roadside stands for beloved specialties like banana bread that only a local would know about.

Driving the Road to Hana in a rental car can take hours and you’ll miss the many wonderful stopping off points and photo opportunities on this once-in-a-lifetime road trip. Book our Road to Hana tour and travel in comfort to this paradise as our guide shares fascinating Hawaiian culture, legends, and natural history.
